Hello!
My name is Margarita Rebetskaya. I am a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer and founder of Spoon of Sugar dance studio.

I was born in Moscow, Russia. I started practicing artistic gymnastics from a young age and graduated from the school-studio associated with the Igor Moiseyev Ballet.
For 15 years, I danced with this renowned dance company all around the world
I also completed the theater studies department at GITIS (Russian University of Theatre Arts), worked as a director and choreographer on various projects, and taught gymnastics and ballet at the Ilze Liepa Academy.

In 2021, I came to Calgary and participated in a professional dance program at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. I also work as a ballet and character dance teacher at the Alberta Ballet School and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.

Dance recital on a professional stage
During the academic season (from September to May), we organize two performances with our students for the audience. The final annual concert takes place on a professional theater stage.

Performing on stage allows kids to develop:

self-expression
self-confidence
discipline
teamwork
courage in public performing
Why kids should dance?
Getting
stronger
Enhancing strength, flexibility,
and balance.
Developing coordination
Developing grace, coordination, refining posture and rhythmic abilities
Building
a confidence
Self-confidence while fostering
an appreciation for music and movement
Our main principle is to learn through enjoyment, or in other words, to
"add a spoon of sugar to take the medicine"*
